Day 1: Overnight Flight

Discover spectacular Switzerland, Austria and Bavaria on a tour featuring multiple night stays in two cities. The medieval city of Bern, one of Europe’s loveliest capitals, is your host city while you leisurely explore the many cultural aspects and spectacular scenery that only Switzerland offers. Then, an extended stay in Innsbruck offers the perfect vantage point for exploring the delights of Austria and Bavaria.

Day 2: Bern, Switzerland - Tour Begins Your tour begins in the capital of Switzerland, Bern, a UNESCO World Heritage site nestled in the Swiss countryside. The cobbled Old Town section is so well preserved that residents who lived here 500 years ago would still find it familiar. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner featuring local cuisine such as traditional cheese fondue.

Day 3: Bern Explore delightful Bern on a panoramic sightseeing tour featuring the Bundeshaus (the Swiss Parliament), the famous Bear Pit, the Rose Gardens, and the gothic cathedral, which dominates the Old Town skyline. Your visit to the Bear Pit will answer the question as to why bears are so revered in this beguiling city. Along the way, your Tour Manager will teach you key words and phrases to use along your journey. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore charming Bern independently.

Day 4: Bern - Chateau de Chillon - Montreux - Train Ride Travel the shores of Lake Geneva to the legendary, medieval Chateau de Chillon, a princely residence facing the lake but an imposing fortress from the mountains. Later, enjoy breathtaking Alpine views with a ride on the GoldenPass Panoramic Train from Montreux to Gstaad. Discover the delightful ambiance of this world-famous Alpine ski resort with its numerous weathered wood chalets.

Day 6: Bern - Innsbruck, Austria Travel to the Austrian border and the striking Olympic city of Innsbruck, the “Capital of the Tyrol.” A local guide leads a panoramic Innsbruck city tour highlighting the popular thoroughfare, Maria Theresienstrasse, the Hofburg, now a museum, but once the seat of Habsburg princes, and the “Golden Roof,” all set against the imposing backdrop of the lovely Austrian Alps. This evening, join your fellow travelers for dinner featuring local specialties.

Day 7: Innsbruck - Salzburg - Innsbruck Travel through the picturesque Austrian countryside to Salzburg. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely-paced walking tour featuring Mirabell Gardens (seen in the "Sound of Music"), the quaint Getreidegasse (site of Mozart’s birthplace), and many other highlights of this beautiful city. The afternoon is at leisure to explore and enjoy Salzburg’s fabulous sights. The day concludes with a delightful dinner at the centuries-old St. Peter’s Restaurant, Austria’s oldest.

Day 8: Innsbruck Today is at leisure for you to enjoy this beautiful city. You may choose to stroll through the old town and shop at many of the city’s outstanding stores or you may just relax and breathe in the fresh mountain air while enjoying a beverage in the many cafés that dot this charming city.

Day 9: Innsbruck - Bavaria, Germany - Oberammergau - Innsbruck Today fairy tales come to life with a picture stop at Bavaria’s most famous castle, Neuschwanstein. Next, visit Wies Church, proclaimed a World Heritage site, before proceeding to Oberammergau. Enjoy a brief orientation tour of this picturesque village which is famous for the internationally-known Passion Play, performed only every ten years to fulfill a pledge made by the villagers to God for sparing their city from the ravages of bubonic plague in 1633. This evening, join your fellow travelers at a farewell dinner and then experience the rich musical tradition of the area during a Tyrolean folklore show.

Day 1: New Orleans, Louisiana - Tour Begins Step back in time for a cultural getaway to the “Jazz Capital of the World” – New Orleans! This soulful city abounds with rich history, mouth-watering Cajun and Creole cuisine, and a purely soothing, incomparable soundtrack.

Day 2: French Quarter Enjoy a leisurely walking tour of New Orleans’ famous French Quarter where you will see the majestic St. Louis Cathedral, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. Continue on to the bustling French Marketplace where you’ll explore Pirates Alley, the Cabildo, the Presbytere and the Pontalba. Stop to taste a true New Orleans favorite at Café Du Monde. Tonight, roll up your sleeves and prepare to discover how to cook New Orleans-style! During a unique cooking demonstration at the New Orleans School of Cooking, your chef will indulge you in everything that Louisiana cuisine has to offer. By your visit’s end, you’ll actually make your own bread pudding dessert! Following dinner, discover why New Orleans is known as the “Birthplace of Jazz” when you take in a toe-tapping jazz revue.

Day 3: French Quarter Enjoy a tour of New Orleans along historic Esplanade Avenue. See St. Louis Cemetery #3, which opened in 1854 and features some of the most elaborate crypts found in New Orleans’ cemeteries. Then, relax during a tranquil drive along the shoreline of Lake Ponchartrain. This romantic road eventually leads to the majestic St. Charles Avenue, whisking you past gorgeous mansions as well as Tulane and Loyola, two famous universities in New Orleans. The evening is yours to discover this great city at your own pace.

Day 4: New Orleans - Memphis, Tennessee Travel north, en route to Memphis, the birthplace of the Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Soul. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in Memphis’ energetic musical scene as you feast on southern cuisine on world-famous Beale Street.

Day 5: Memphis This morning, embark on a one-of-a-kind tour of the city of Memphis. Local musicians board the coach and tell the story of Memphis’ musical heritage and history as you view the city’s many highlights…you may even be tempted to sing along! Then, don your blue suede shoes when you visit Graceland, the palatial home of Elvis Presley. Enter Elvis’ 14-acre estate and visit his home, original business office, trophy building and the Meditation Garden, where Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest. The rest of your evening is free to enjoy this city’s vast musical offerings on your own.

Day 6: Memphis - Nashville Journey to the “Music Capital of the World” – Nashville. This evening, take your reserved seat at the renowned “Grand Ole Opry.” What began as a building where a local radio broadcast show aired once a week in 1925 has grown to become an entertainment complex that attracts music fans from all over the world.

Day 7: Nashville This morning a local guide officially welcomes you to Nashville by sharing its history and lore during a fascinating sightseeing tour. Visit Ryman Auditorium* before embarking on a panoramic tour of the city, highlighting the State Capitol, Music Row and the Parthenon - a full scale replica of the Athenian original! Tour the historic RCA Studio B for an up-close look at Nashville’s oldest remaining record studio where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Charlie Pride once recorded some of their classic hits! Learn the secrets of how each artist recorded their chart-topping music in this famous studio, where you may even have the opportunity to record your own hit! Then, explore the Country Music Hall of Fame. The museum’s vast collections of memorabilia, costumes, recordings and instruments are artfully presented in cutting-edge exhibits relaying the colorful histories of country music and its artists. Tonight, enjoy a special dinner at the famous Wildhorse Saloon, home of a 3,300 square foot dance floor that is used every night of the week by dancers and revelers!
